Direct Care Staff Job Description and Expectations
The Direct Care Staff (DCS) 's role is to ensure that the member schedules are followed and that documentation is complete and accurate. The DCS is the frontline worker of the group home and completes the required tasks to ensure we meet the wants/needs of the members. The DCS's role is critical to The Little Foundation’s goal of Making the Impossible Possible.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Direct Care Staff position is paid an hourly wage dependent on experience and knowledge.
Direct Care Staff Responsibilities:
- Ensuring staffing needs are maintained according to the Planning Document
- Ensuring staffing ratios are being met, and DCS may be required to stay late if the next staff member is late for a shift
- Ensure required documentation is captured accurately and in a timely manner.
- Transport members to appointments or scheduled/unscheduled activities
- Completing/submitting Incident Reports (IRs) timely and accurately to your supervisor
- Attending PCSP meetings if requested
- Participate in scheduled activities
- Working with members to increase independence
- Complete required training promptly
- Assist members with successfully meeting their Planning Outcomes
- Assure the Health & Safety of the members
- Immediately report issues to your manager
- Communicate all staffing concerns and member complaints to the manager
- Must be on time for scheduled shifts
- Must have a valid Driver’s License (exceptions apply)
