Duties
- Supervise daily activities in the dog daycare facility, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all dogs
- Implement basic training techniques to promote good behavior, socialization, and obedience
- Handle dogs safely using proper restraint and handling techniques to prevent injuries or stress
- Monitor dog interactions to prevent conflicts and promote positive socialization
- Assist with pet grooming, feeding, administering medications, and cleaning kennels or play areas
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about their dog’s progress, behavior, and care needs
- Support veterinary technicians or assistants with animal handling or care tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or kennel work is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dog training methods and canine behavior management techniques
- Social media experience is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Experience in pet grooming, pet sitting, or animal care roles preferred
- Excellent customer service skills to engage with pet owners professionally and positively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting dogs or supplies)
- Basic understanding of veterinary procedures or veterinary experience is advantageous
