Job Overview
Tender Care LLC is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Day Program Recreation Director to lead and oversee our day program services for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Day Program Recreation Director is responsible for overseeing all programmatic and operational aspects of our Day Habilitation program. This role ensures compliance with New Jersey DDD regulations and procedures while coordinating the activities of individuals served, managing staff, and creating engaging recreational activities. The ideal candidate will conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of services, making data-driven adjustments to enhance Tender Care LLC Day Habilitation program outcomes.
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years or older
At least several years experience working with individuals with disabilities
Experience developing creative programming for persons with disabilities
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Driver’s license must be valid in the state of New Jersey
Must conduct mandatory pre-hire checks
Conditions:
Manage daily program operations, staff and resources at Tender Care LLC Day Center
Uphold the agency and DDD licensing regulations
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise staff to deliver high-quality day habilitation services aligned with individual care plans and goals.
- Ensure person-centered care, staff supervision and compliance with DDD state regulations.
- Coordinate activities that promote social engagement, skill development, and community involvement for residents with developmental disabilities.
- Oversee medication administration procedures ensuring safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Conduct regular staff training on topics such as resident safety, behavioral management, and best practices in senior care.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of care plans development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent leadership abilities coupled with operational management expertise including budgeting and financial acumen.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in home & community care settings.
- Compassionate communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
