Duties
- Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures
- Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, laboratory tests, and sample collection following proper aseptic techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Help with pet care routines including feeding, grooming, and monitoring behavior for signs of distress or illness
- Prepare examination rooms, surgical suites, and diagnostic tools for procedures while adhering to veterinary terminology and protocols
- Support front desk operations by managing patient records, and communicating effectively with pet owners
- Assist with specialized animal care such as animal catheterization when required
Skills
- Proven veterinary assistance experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge to handle diverse species confidently
- Veterinary clinic experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal physiology
- Skilled in animal restraint techniques, dog handling, and pet care procedures to ensure safe interactions
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, medication administration, and aseptic techniques for clinical tasks
- Knowledge of lab collection, venipuncture for both Dog and Cat
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks
