About Us
AZ PayTech helps independent retailers across Arizona get better point-of-sale technology, payment processing, and business tools — without paying enterprise prices or dealing with 800-number support. We work with clothing stores, boutiques, and specialty retailers who want a real partner instead of another vendor. Our team is small, focused, and built around long-term relationships with the merchants we serve.
The Role
We're hiring a Clothing Store Sales Representative to build our presence in the clothing and boutique retail vertical across Arizona. This is a field sales role focused on independently-owned clothing stores, boutiques, and specialty apparel retailers. You'll be the person walking into these stores, understanding what they're using now, showing them what's possible with a better POS setup, and earning their business.
You'll cover the entire Arizona market. That means Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott, and the smaller markets in between. Expect to travel across the state weekly, with roughly one overnight per week to cover territory efficiently. Overnight travel is fully reimbursed.
What You'll Do
- Prospect independently-owned clothing stores and boutiques across Arizona
- Conduct in-person visits, product demonstrations, and consultative sales conversations with store owners and managers
- Perform statement audits and cost analyses to show merchants their real all-in processing costs
- Present integrated POS and payment solutions that fit the specific needs of clothing retailers
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through signed agreement
- Coordinate with our support team to ensure smooth onboarding for new merchants
- Maintain relationships with signed merchants and generate referrals
- Report on pipeline, activity, and results weekly
Who You Are
You're comfortable walking into a store you've never been to before and starting a conversation with the owner. You've done retail sales, wholesale sales, merchant services sales, or another role where you built a book of business through in-person relationships. You understand small business owners because you've worked with them, or you were one.
You know that the best sales conversations aren't pitches — they're diagnostic conversations that help the owner see something about their business they didn't know before. You're willing to learn the technical side of payments and POS deeply enough to have credible conversations with retailers.
You're organized enough to manage a statewide territory without daily supervision. You're motivated by commission and building something. You can handle the honest ups and downs of a field sales role where some weeks are quiet and some weeks close multiple deals.
Requirements
- Valid Arizona driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to travel across Arizona with roughly one overnight per week
- Prior sales experience (retail, wholesale, B2B, or merchant services preferred)
- Comfortable with in-person cold visits and consultative sales conversations
- Basic technical aptitude to learn POS systems and payment processing
- Self-directed work style with strong follow-through
Compensation
- Base Salary: $3,000 per month
- Commission: $3,000 per signed merchant deal
- Travel Reimbursement: Overnight travel expenses reimbursed (lodging, meals, mileage)
- Realistic first-year earnings: $60,000 – $120,000+ depending on activity and close rate
There is no cap on commissions. Top performers who consistently close 3–5 deals per month can earn well into six figures. This is a role where your income scales directly with the work you put in.
Why This Role
Most merchant services sales jobs put you on a 100% commission structure with no support, no leads, no product differentiation, and no way to actually help the customer. This is different. You'll have a base salary while you build your book, a real product that solves real problems for retailers, and a team that supports the deals you close so merchants stay signed and referrals come back to you.
You'll also be building expertise in a specific vertical (clothing retail) rather than being a generalist competing with every other merchant services rep in Arizona. Specialization means better close rates and stronger long-term earnings.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
