Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled General Maintenance Technician specializing in Docks and Doors to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and reliability of dock doors, loading bays, and associated equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a seamless flow of operations, minimize downtime, and uphold the highest standards of safety and efficiency across our facility. This position is Monday - Friday 3-1130PM. Hours may vary based on business demand.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead/roll up doors, gates, and gate arms.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair loading dock levelers, dock plates, and dock restraints.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
- Replace motors, bearings, sheaves, shafts, etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Communicate non-compliance concerns to ensure corrective actions have taken place.
- Respond and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance with codes, regulations and industry standards.
- Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
- Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
- Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
- Maintain a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrate flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Five years of maintenance experience in one of the following trades or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience: Industrial HVAC/ Industrial Mechanical Machine Repair, or Automotive Repair.
- Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required.
- May be required to work holidays and weekends.
- Work schedules can change based on critical business needs.
Pay: $25.00 - $28.80 per hour
