American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a large academic teaching hospital in St. Louis, MO, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of critical care or procedural experience.

Interventional Radiology unit within a large short-term acute care, academic teaching hospital (1,259 staffed beds)
-
All adult IR procedures performed: body, vascular, and neuro
-
Average daily census of 8 patients per nurse

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4x10-hour shifts (7:30–18:00)

Occasional shift extension expected approximately once per week when procedures are still in progress at the end of the shift (referred to as 'Backup')

Required to work every 5th or 6th Saturday, 8:00–16:00, as needed
-
On-call required: weeknights (Monday–Thursday, 18:00–07:30), approximately 3–4 times per 13-week contract

On-call required: weekends (Friday 18:00–Monday 07:30), approximately 1–2 weekends per 13-week contract

Procedures include CT-guided procedures, bone biopsies, central line placement, and titrating drips

Equipment used includes Philips monitors

Charting via Epic (experience required)

Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Critical care background required — ICU, ED, or procedural experience

Must pass a Relias EKG exam; EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management skills required

Ability to work independently

No visible tattoos; facial piercings must be removed or covered

IR-specific experience is not required for this position

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Travelers may work up to 18 months at this facility before a required 3-month break in service

Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
