Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and fryers
- Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients with care to ensure hygiene and compliance
- Assist with meal assembly, plating, and presentation to meet customer expectations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools through regular cleaning routines
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on recipes and ingredient needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant kitchens is preferred; dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
- Culinary experience demonstrating familiarity with recipe adherence and meal preparation processes
- Catering experience or background in the food industry is advantageous but not required
