A well-respected equipment rental business in Eastern Iowa is actively hiring a Service Manager to join its team.
The Service Manager will lead the service operation, drive technician productivity and development, and ensure customer equipment repair issues are resolved with urgency and follow-through. This role exists to improve service department performance, build effective training processes, and manage labor utilization while maintaining responsiveness to contractor customers who depend on equipment uptime.

Job Duties:
- Lead daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and monitoring key performance indicators to achieve quality and efficiency goals.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate technicians to build a high-performing service team while managing hiring, performance management, and employee development within the department.
- Manage the full work order lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and completeness of repair orders, proper documentation of parts and labor, and coordination with the parts department.
- Manage customer relationships by anticipating needs, addressing concerns, communicating estimates and timelines clearly, and leading initiatives to ensure a consistently positive customer experience.
- Monitor departmental performance through reports and operational metrics,
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of service department experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
- Understanding of diagnostic programs and the ability to read and write written procedures.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% for branch visits and manufacturer or vendor training events.
