Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to join our growing team. This dual-role position is responsible for accurately estimating electrical construction projects, managing awarded projects from start to finish, and ensuring successful execution within budget, schedule, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical construction, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients, vendors, and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects.
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify project requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and assist with contract negotiations.
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
Project Management
- Manage multiple electrical construction projects from award through closeout.
- Develop project budgets, schedules, procurement plans, and manpower forecasts.
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, and field supervisors.
- Monitor project costs, productivity, and profitability.
- Process change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular status updates.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage project billing, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Support successful project closeout, including punch lists, as-builts, and final documentation.
Qualifications
- Electrical estimating and/or project management experience.
- Strong background in commercial, industrial, or large-scale residential electrical construction.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience with estimating with software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of NEC and applicable building codes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical Journeyman License or Master Electrician License (preferred).
- Experience with Design-Build projects.
- Experience using GC Pay, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.
