Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor casting equipment, including furnaces and casting lines, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards
- Learn and manage all control points in the Control Room.
- Start up, monitor, and shut down casting systems safely from the control room, including furnace tilt, aluminum flow, filter levels, and robotic functions
- Plan and coordinate workflow with the Casting Production Manager to meet production goals
- Monitor ingot bundle movement and casting line speed to maintain smooth throughput
- Conduct furnace skimming, dross removal, and filter area maintenance
- Respond to system alarms or casting problems by safely stopping the process and initiating corrective action
- Assist in physical production tasks when required, including shoveling, raking, stacking, and sampling
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the production team and management to report performance, delays, and root causes
- Complete end-of-shift reports detailing operational metrics and issues
- Maintain furnace area and casting lines in a clean, organized, and safe condition
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial operations
- Basic understanding of casting and furnace systems preferred
- Computer literacy and ability to operate system control interfaces
- Forklift and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to anticipate and act on potential production issues in real time
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 35 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in variable conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, and work at elevated heights
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and industrial environments with loud noise and heat
- Must be able to sit and remain alert for extended periods when operating control systems
Schedule
- Friday-Sunday and every other Thurs, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM

- Are you able to reliably commute to our Sparks, NV location (2455 Peru Drive) for your scheduled shifts?
- This role follows a schedule of Friday- Sunday and every other Thursday, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM. Training will be conducted on day shift for approximately two weeks before transitioning to Weekends. Are you able to commit to both the training schedule and the ongoing shift?
