Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service at the front desk
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using dental practice management software such as CURVE
- Verify insurance coverage, process insurance claims, and handle billing and collections efficiently
- Collect and review patient documentation, including medical histories and consent forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Maintain accurate medical records and update electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with professional phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, data entry, managing medical records, and handling correspondence
- Support clinic operations by coordinating patient intake, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and CPT coding standards for billing purposes
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and efficient office management
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental or medical office setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical billing procedures
- Familiarity with Curve management software; experience with
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes, Medicare guidelines, ICD-10/ICD-9/ICD coding, CPT coding,
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing)
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Dental office experience, familiarity with dental terminology and office management practices is advantageous
