Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and vehicle systems. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and forklifts using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system servicing.
- Repair and overhaul vehicle systems including transmissions, electrical systems, air brakes, HVAC units, shocks & struts, and diesel engines.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to complete mechanical repairs and fabrication projects.
- Inspect equipment for safety issues or malfunctioning components; perform alignments and calibrations to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs performed; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding service needs.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform tire replacements or service on large trucks and farm machinery as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Automotive Technician with dealership or industrial background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, suspensions, and diesel engines.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software.
- Certification as a licensed mechanic or equivalent qualification is required; additional certifications in HVAC or specialized machinery are a plus.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repair processes and maintenance needs.
