American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a day shift travel assignment at a Level 1 trauma, tertiary teaching hospital in Portland, ME, requiring 3+ years of experience across adult, pediatric, and critical care settings.

Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

26-week contract

Covers the entire facility as part of a team of 14–16 RRTs
-
Patient ratios: 1:25 for acute care, 1:8 for critical care
-
Float requirements include NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care
-
Float policy includes a 25-mile float between facilities as needed
-
On-call requirement: 2 hours for the oncoming shift
-
Ventilators used: Dräger V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm

EMR: Epic

RRT credential required
-
Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
-
Experience in a tertiary, academic teaching hospital required

Level 1 trauma center experience required
-
Experience in adult acute and critical care required

Experience in NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, and ED required
-
BLS required; ACLS preferred; NRP required for NICU assignments

Epic EMR experience preferred

Driver's license required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

License required if applicable

Provide respiratory therapy services across a large academic medical center serving diverse adult and pediatric patient populations
-
Preferred background includes cardiothoracic and NICU/PICU experience

Candidates should be flexible, collaborative team players with strong communication skills
-
Scrubs are provided or flexible; no specific color requirement
-
Personal electronic devices including AirPods, laptops, and cell phones are prohibited on the unit

Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility in Maine or New Hampshire are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions

No travel pairs or groups are permitted for this assignment
