Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management for acute pain, hospice, or chronic conditions.
- Assist with specialized procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management in various settings including ICU, emergency room, or outpatient clinics.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations like laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and imaging procedures such as sonography or mammography when required.
- Provide critical care support in trauma centers or Level I/II trauma centers; manage airway techniques and critical response protocols efficiently.
- Coordinate discharge planning and case management for patients in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care environments.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation to support quality care delivery across all departments.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
- Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, aseptic technique, wound suturing, and catheter care.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology necessary for accurate patient assessment and treatment planning.
- Critical care experience in ICU or trauma settings; familiarity with trauma medicine protocols and Level I/II trauma center standards.
- Skilled in managing complex cases involving infectious disease care, pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, or behavioral health needs.
- Ability to perform triage effectively in urgent care or emergency room environments; experience with pediatric and neonatal resuscitation procedures preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical documentation best practices to ensure precise recordkeeping.
