Welder (Multi-Level Role)

Compensation: Starting at $20.00/hour (pay increases based on experience and skill level)
Position Overview
A busy manufacturing and fabrication environment is seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication & Welding Specialist to support the production and assembly of structural components. This role involves hands-on welding, fabrication, assembly, and equipment operation while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
The ideal candidate will have experience with multiple welding processes and enjoy working in a fast-paced industrial setting.
- Perform welding using MIG, TIG, wire feed, spot welding, and oxy-fuel techniques
- Fabricate structural components including beams, tanks, frames, and related assemblies
- Complete welding tasks in multiple positions while maintaining quality workmanship
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications
- Prepare materials, finish welds, and ensure completed work meets production requirements and quality standards
- Assemble fabricated components using drilling, bolting, clamping, cutting, and tapping methods
- Operate fabrication tools and power equipment including grinders, sanders, and related shop tools
- Set up welding equipment and adjust operating settings such as wire feed, amperage, and gas flow
- Inspect materials, welds, and completed assemblies for accuracy and compliance
- Identify equipment concerns and assist with basic troubleshooting or adjustments
- Support pressure testing activities and perform weld repairs or rework when required
- Record production activity and maintain accurate labor or time-tracking documentation
- Communicate project status, quality concerns, and safety observations with supervisors and team members
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Willingness to cross-train and learn additional fabrication skills
- Understanding of workplace safety procedures and safe equipment operation
- Ability to follow work instructions and manage multiple production priorities
- Previous welding experience preferred (weld test may be required during hiring process)
- Experience working with welding tools, fabrication equipment, and metalworking machinery
- Basic math skills and the ability to read measurements accurately
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- MIG welding certification preferred
- TIG welding experience or certification is a plus
- Trade school or vocational training is beneficial
