We are looking to hire a Webmaster and Digital Accessibility Manager for our downtown Atlanta location!
Webmaster
-
Maintains the overall integrity of the web properties and ensures consistent quality assurance of web-based materials produced

Maintains the day-to-day operations of the website, including responding to internal and external requests to update the website

Contributes to the design of the website by coding, testing, and debugs webpages and documents using Cascade CMS
-
Conducts daily website check to identify technical errors and fix problems
- Identifies and implements technical strategies and resources in the development of Web content, design and content management technologies to improve productivity
-
Provides monthly and ad-hoc reports to management on website traffic and usage, including analysis of strengths, weaknesses and threats
-
Develops strategies and tactics to optimize web content for search engine accessibility
-
Updates standards and guidelines and work with campus customers to ensure all Web development meets requirements

Works integrally with staff campus-wide to implement online marketing strategies and interactive projects

Creates and maintains server scripts within the Cascade content management system, using languages such as HTML, CSS, .NET, JavaScript, Python, and PHP
-
Reviews and explores emerging web development trends and make recommendations to the division based on division and College goals and objectives

Supports the management and administrative functions of faculty and program microsites using Cascade CMS, WordPress, updating scripts, widgets and providing user access
-
Provides leadership, advocacy, training, expertise and technical assistance so that the organization's digital content meets guidelines, principles of effective design and web accessibility standards

Collaborates with the Creative Services & Graphic Design Director to create images, banners and icons for the website.
Digital Accessibility Manager

Organizes, coordinates, and executes usability/accessibility solutions.

Works with vendors to implement accessibility features for web pages, PDFs, videos, applications or software
-
Collaborate with appropriate areas to develop, implement and assess a procurement policy that supports accessibility
- Participates in professional networks and discussion lists in the area of digital accessibility.

Researches and remains current with accessibility laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 AA

Follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to measure the accessibility of the website
-
Focuses on the four WCAG principles to ensure the site is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users
-
Works collaboratively with campus entities to research and design relevant guides and training materials to support accessibility to foster student success
-
Research, recommend and implement systems, procedures and policies that promote and support digital accessibility of web pages, videos, PDFs and other multimedia content

Attends and participates in required meetings and serves on college committees as appropriate
Education and/or Experience:
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, instructional technology, or related programs and a minimum of five years of experience in Web coding and site development in an academic or professional setting required.

This work requires a solid knowledge of browser capability issues and advanced proficiency with HTML, including CSS, templates, complex tables, frames and image maps. Advanced .NET experience is preferred to support customizing our current content management system, Sitefinity. Experience with Cascade CMS, JavaScript, Python, and PHP is a plus
