Technical Service Support / Warranty Specialist (Office-Based, OPE)
Midwest Equipment & Supply Co. is hiring a Technical Service Support / Warranty Specialist to provide office-based technical support for outdoor power equipment dealers. This position focuses on phone and email troubleshooting, warranty claim review, service diagnostics, and dealer support, rather than daily hands-on equipment repair.
Candidates must have a mechanical background in outdoor power equipment and be comfortable applying that knowledge in an office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical service support to dealers via phone and email
- Diagnose mechanical and product issues using service manuals and documentation
- Review, process, and resolve warranty claims
- Assist dealers with rejected or incomplete warranty submissions
- Communicate repair procedures, diagnostics, and best practices remotely
- Maintain accurate service and warranty records
- Assist with service training and documentation
- Perform occasional service evaluations or updates as needed
Required Experience & Skills
- Mechanical experience with outdoor power equipment (lawn mowers, handheld equipment, small engines, power equipment)
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues
- Experience explaining technical issues over the phone or by email
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in an office setting
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
Preferred Background
- Former service technician, lead tech, shop foreman, or warranty administrator
- Experience with dealer networks, manufacturers, or distributors
- Warranty processing, claims review, or technical support experience
- Familiarity with service manuals, diagnostic procedures, and technical bulletins
