Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and clinical counseling sessions for individuals and groups.
- Deliver evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis tailored to client needs.
- Provide specialized care for populations such as PTSD, Alzheimer's disease, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities.
- Engage in crisis management and crisis intervention to ensure client safety and stability during urgent situations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans, document medical records accurately using EMR systems, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to motivate behavioral change and support addiction counseling efforts.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives by collecting data, maintaining detailed medical documentation, and contributing to ongoing studies related to mental health and behavioral health outcomes.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, or behavioral therapy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and data collection tools used in clinical research settings.
- Excellent crisis management skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information; familiarity with mental health legislation is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and medical staff.
