American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Dialysis position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, BLS certification, and a GA or compact RN license.

Inpatient dialysis unit with 1 room containing 8 beds and an average daily census of 20 patients
-
Adult to geriatric patient population, including COVID-positive dialysis patients
-
Patient ratio of 1:1-2
-
Procedures include hemodialysis at the dialysis bay and bedside, AV fistula and graft access, permcath access, and dressing changes

EMR: Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis; B. Braun dialysis machines used
-
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:45 AM – 8:15 PM)
-
36 hours per week with a minimum of 12 hours of on-call per week

On-call required 1–2 times per week
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed

Active GA or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of renal/dialysis RN experience required

Experience with hemodialysis, AV fistula and graft access, permcath access, and dressing changes required

RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; max 7 days allowed, and RTO cannot be requested during the first week of assignment

Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
-
Responsibilities include performing hemodialysis on inpatients, closely monitoring patient status during treatments, administering medications, transfusing blood as ordered, and communicating frequently with Nephrologists regarding orders or changes in patient condition

Navy blue scrubs required

Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler

Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
