We’re a rapidly growing plaintiff-side firm on Long Island with a motion-heavy practice. We’re hiring a senior paralegal who can draft well, move files fast, and run smaller matters independently while supporting attorneys on higher-value cases.
What we value (motion-heavy practice)
- Strong drafting (clear, persuasive, and accurate under time pressure)
- Ownership + urgency (you don’t wait to be chased; you move files forward)
- Clean files + deadlines (diary control, zero missed dates, court-ready records)
- Client care (professional, empathetic communication—especially in tough moments)
- Calm execution (handles volume without drama; solutions-focused)
What you’ll own (PI)
- Support motion practice: compile exhibits, manage deadlines, coordinate filings, and keep matters “court-ready”
- Maintain case diary, client communication, medical record/bill tracking, and settlement follow-ups
- Handle sub-$30,000 cases from start to finish with minimal supervision (intake → demand/negotiation → resolution)
- Draft and file core litigation documents, including: Complaints / pleadings, Bills of Particulars
Discovery demands/responses and correspondence
Employment work (lighter percentage, plaintiff-side)
- Assist with employment litigation support as needed (document collection, timelines, drafting support, discovery coordination)
Tools & workflow:
- We use in-house AI-powered case workflow software built around systems like Needles / Time Matters / Juris (familiarity is a plus)
- Lexis for legal research
What we’re looking for:
- 7+ years plaintiff PI/BI paralegal experience (required)
- Employment plaintiff litigation experience (preferred)
- Strong writing and drafting skills (complaints, BPs, discovery, motion support)
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, comfortable working in a fast-moving practice
Why this role is different:
- Senior-level autonomy (you’ll truly run your own smaller cases)
- Bonus eligibility
- Hybrid schedule for the right employee
- 2–4 weeks PTO for senior hires
- Rapid growth and real opportunity to expand responsibility
- Up to $110k DOE for ideal candidate, exceptional candidates could earn up to $125k starting
To apply: Please include your resume and (if available) a short writing sample (e.g., a motion affirmation section, discovery responses, or a redacted complaint section).
