Kansas City Satellite Market Assignment
Kansas City operates as a satellite location of Dallas. The Dallas General Manager provides market-level oversight, customer escalation support, and accountability for Kansas City performance. Project Coordinator support, including order entry, work order processing, workflow updates, final review support, closeout processing, and invoicing support, is provided from Dallas.
Role Summary
The Kansas City Account Manager owns local customer relationships, scope definition, quote accuracy, revenue retention, and customer experience for assigned accounts.
This role defines what is sold, protects job-level margin through accurate scope and change order discipline, and partners with Dallas leadership, Operations, and Dallas Project Coordinator support to ensure work is ready to execute.
Primary Responsibilities
Customer Relationship & Account Growth
- Serve as the primary local contact for assigned Kansas City customers
- Build customer relationships that support repeat business, retention, and account growth
- Identify customer needs, service risks, and local growth opportunities
- Partner with the Dallas General Manager on customer strategy, escalations, and revenue retention
Scope, Quoting & Change Orders
- Conduct site visits, measurements, takeoffs, and scope reviews as needed
- Prepare accurate quotes and proposals aligned with scope, pricing, customer expectations, and margin targets
- Document scope details, site conditions, risks, and customer requirements before handoff
- Own change order identification, pricing alignment, customer approval, and communication before work proceeds
- Maintain accountability for scope accuracy throughout the job lifecycle
Sales to Operations Handoff
- Provide a complete handoff to Operations and Dallas Project Coordinator support
- Communicate scope, job details, customer expectations, timing risks, material needs, and known constraints
- Coordinate with Operations for feasibility validation without shifting scope ownership to Operations
- Support customer issue resolution during execution while Operations owns day-to-day delivery
Satellite Market & Local Execution Support
- Serve as the primary local representative for RM Interiors in Kansas City
- Coordinate locally with installers, Dallas leadership, Dallas Project Coordinator support, Procurement, and Operations to support job readiness
- Help confirm scheduled work has the required scope, material, labor, and customer approval before proceeding
- Monitor local job progress and escalate customer, operational, material, staffing, or financial risks to the Dallas General Manager
- Support quality control, customer closeout, and follow-up on incomplete or deficient work
Warehouse & Material Support
- Receive, inspect, organize, and stage materials as needed for Kansas City jobs
- Maintain basic warehouse organization, labeling, cleanliness, and material readiness
- Support installer load-out and verify material accuracy against job requirements
- Identify and report material shortages, damages, discrepancies, aging inventory, or safety concerns
Performance Expectations & Metrics
Success in this role is measured by:
- Revenue retention and account growth within assigned Kansas City customers
- Customer satisfaction, responsiveness, and relationship strength
- Scope accuracy, quote accuracy, and change order discipline
- Quality of handoff to Operations and Dallas Project Coordinator support
- Kansas City job readiness, local coordination, and timely risk escalation
- Material readiness, warehouse organization, and inventory issue visibility
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong customer relationship and account management skills

- Practical problem-solving ability across customer, field, warehouse, and handoff issues
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in account management, project estimation, sales, or customer-facing roles
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships, identify sales opportunities, and drive retention through proactive account engagement
- Experience in flooring, construction, field services, or small-market operations preferred
- Experience performing takeoffs, measurements, scope development, material coordination, or warehouse activity preferred
Physical Requirements
This role operates in office, field, and basic warehouse environments. Physical expectations may include:
- Standing, walking, and navigating job sites
- Ability to perform site measurements and inspections
- Occasional lifting or moving of materials up to approximately 25-50 pounds
- Repetitive motion
- Ability to assist with basic material staging, receiving, and installer load-out as needed
Location & Hours
- Full-time; Monday to Friday schedule
- Based in Kansas City with regular Dallas General Manager oversight
- Travel within the market required for site visits and customer meetings
- Periodic travel to Dallas may be required based on business needs
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
