Position: Bartender/Server - Mosaic Restaurant
Job Summary: Bartenders and servers at Mosaic Restaurant are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive dining experience for guests. They play a crucial role in delivering high-quality food and beverage service, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and contributing to the overall success of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service and Beverage Service:
- Greet and welcome guests, providing them with menus and answering questions about food and drink options.
- Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are accommodated.
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and specialty drinks.
- Provide recommendations and suggestions on beverages and food pairings, promoting upselling opportunities.
- Food Service and Order Delivery:
- Deliver food orders to guests' tables promptly and accurately, ensuring proper food presentation and adherence to quality standards.
- Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and promptly address any concerns or requests.
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated delivery of food and beverages.
- Clear tables, refill water glasses, and reset tables for the next guests.
- Cash Handling and Point-of-Sale (POS) Operations:
- Accurately process payment transactions, including cash, credit cards, and digital payment methods.
- Handle cash responsibly, ensuring proper cash handling procedures and accuracy in providing change.
- Operate the POS system efficiently to enter orders, process payments, and generate accurate guest checks.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, transactions, and tips.
- Cleanliness and Organization:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the bar area, dining room, and workstations.
- Set up and break down the bar area, including cleaning glassware, stocking supplies, and ensuring the bar is properly equipped.
- Assist with restocking inventory, including beverages, garnishes, and bar supplies.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Collaborate with fellow bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate guest feedback, special requests, and concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Support and assist colleagues during peak periods, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on menu changes, promotions, and service standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience as a bartender or server in a restaurant or bar setting.
- Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, and beer.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and accurate order processing.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and compliance with local liquor laws.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) or similar certification is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
