Trueline is seeking an In-Home Remodeling Sales Consultant to join its team. The company will provide training on its services, pricing, design process, and sales approach, making this a strong opportunity for an experienced closer from real estate, construction products, home services, or another high-ticket sales environment. A large New Jersey showroom and a strong inbound lead engine with uncapped commission!
What You'll Do as the In-Home Remodeling Sales Consultant:
- Meet with homeowners in their homes and at the company's showroom to understand their goals, budget, priorities, and timeline
-
Sell kitchen, bathroom, basement, and other residential remodeling projects
-
Convert qualified inbound opportunities from digital marketing, referrals, showroom traffic, and walk-ins into signed contracts
-
Present project options, pricing, design packages, and next steps in a clear and confident way
-
Use the company's large showroom, samples, displays, and design resources to help homeowners visualize their projects
-
Build trust with customers throughout a consultative and sometimes longer sales process
-
Follow up consistently with homeowners who are not ready to make an immediate decision
-
Handle objections, communicate value, negotiate appropriately, and ask for the sale
-
Maintain accurate records of appointments, proposals, follow-up activity, and customer decisions
-
Coordinate a smooth handoff to the design, estimating, and production teams after the sale
-
Manage a schedule based on homeowner appointments, including occasional meetings outside normal business hours
Must-Haves as the In-Home Remodeling Sales Consultant:
- Proven success selling high-ticket products, services, or properties directly to consumers
-
A strong closing mentality and the confidence to ask for the business
-
Experience in real estate, construction products, home improvement, building materials, or another consultative sales environment
-
The ability to build trust quickly with homeowners and guide them through a major purchasing decision
-
Strong discovery, presentation, objection-handling, negotiation, and follow-up skills
-
Motivation to respond quickly when qualified opportunities are assigned
-
Comfort working in a base-plus-commission environment
-
Flexibility to meet homeowners when appointments are booked
-
Strong organization and pipeline management skills
-
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation

- Experience selling real estate, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, windows, doors, roofing, HVAC, waterproofing, building materials, or other construction-related products
-
Experience selling directly to homeowners
-
Previous success in an in-home consultation or one-call-close environment
-
Familiarity with kitchen, bathroom, basement, or residential remodeling
-
Experience using a showroom, model home, design center, or product samples during the sales process
-
Experience using a CRM to track appointments, proposals, and follow-up activity
-
Knowledge of residential markets throughout New Jersey
This Role Offers:
- Training on the company's remodeling services, project types, pricing process, showroom, and sales approach
-
Ongoing support from experienced construction, design, estimating, and production professionals
-
A base salary of $50,000 to $60,000
-
Commission equal to 5% of gross sales
-
Estimated total annual earnings of $120,000 to $150,000 for successful performance
-
Potential earnings of $200,000 or more for a top-performing closer
-
A steady flow of qualified inbound leads generated through search, social media, advertising, referrals, and showroom traffic

-
A large, professional showroom that helps customers understand their options and make confident decisions
-
A strong local reputation and established customer review presence
-
Marketing support across multiple digital platforms
-
The ability to sell several remodeling categories rather than one limited product
