Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other freight vehicles with precision and safety.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Drive assigned routes confidently, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and route details in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents or incidents on the road or at delivery sites.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for operating tractor-trailers, tankers, or refrigerated trailers.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations.
- Skilled in manual transmission vehicles; experience with automatic transmissions is a plus.
- Familiarity with different truck types such as flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and transportation laws.
