Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, excellent teamwork skills, and a solid understanding of veterinary assistant duties. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and surgeries.
- Perform routine animal care tasks including administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and surgical instruments.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis.
- Provide compassionate care and support to animals and their owners.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Demonstrate excellent and compassionate restraint skills for both dogs and cats
- Assist with client communication and provide education on pet care.
- Perform blood draws and place catheters
- Assist in procedures and surgeries (anesthesia monitoring, taking radiographs, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple tasks.
