Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as Field Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our conservation efforts by providing support in various field activities, including fence installation and maintenance, weed control, and the out-planting of native species.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of fences to protect sensitive habitats and wildlife.
- Conduct weed control activities, including manual removal and application of herbicides under supervision.
- Participate in the out-planting of native species to enhance biodiversity and restore degraded ecosystems.
- Follow established protocols and safety procedures to ensure the effective and responsible execution of field tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to accomplish project goals efficiently and effectively.
- Document work activities, including data collection and reporting, as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in outdoor work or conservation-related activities is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Passion for conservation and environmental stewardship.
