Job Overview
We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Final Quality Inspector to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This role is essential in ensuring that all products meet rigorous quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed inspections of aerospace components, utilizing advanced measurement tools and quality systems to uphold the highest levels of precision and compliance. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive visual and dimensional inspections of aerospace parts using precision measurement instruments such as height gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to verify conformance.
- Conduct quality audits throughout the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to AS9100 regulations, and other regulatory standards.
- Utilize vision inspection systems and Calypso software for automated quality assessments where applicable.
- Collect and analyze inspection data to identify trends, deviations, or non-conformities; document findings accurately.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions aligned with HACCP, CGMP, and other compliance standards.
- Support calibration procedures for precision measuring instruments such as height gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits to verify compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, non-conformances, and corrective actions in accordance with quality management systems.
- Assist in maintaining a safe inspection environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within aerospace manufacturing or related high-precision industries.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with calibration procedures for precision measurement tools including height gauges, micrometers, calipers, and vision inspection systems.
- Experience operating coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and vision inspection systems.
- Knowledge of AS9100
- Demonstrated ability to perform quality audits and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Analytical skills necessary for data collection, analysis, and reporting related to quality metrics.
- Proficiency with Calypso software or similar calibration management tools is desirable.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with attention to detail ensures precise measurement in machining environments.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting findings clearly and collaborating across departments.
