Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing facility and equipment maintenance activities, improving preventive maintenance programs, supporting safety initiatives, minimizing equipment downtime, and supervising maintenance technicians. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting abilities, leadership experience, and a proactive approach to maintenance reliability and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain, and improve Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and overall safety performance
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs for facility equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day equipment downtime and maintenance-related issues
- Maintain an effective spare parts inventory and tracking system
- Assess equipment risks and support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and compliance
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on safety procedures, LOTO practices, and basic equipment maintenance
- Promote a proactive and predictive maintenance culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement
- Coordinate maintenance projects, repairs, and vendor activities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO, 5S, TPM, and company safety standards
- Assist with facility and equipment improvements, installations, and startup activities
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Industrial Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–7+ years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience within maintenance operations preferred
- Experience in plastics manufacturing, extrusion, compounding, or industrial processing environments is a plus
- Maintenance-related certifications are highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance systems and equipment troubleshooting
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, EHS programs, and safety compliance
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems and maintenance software
- Knowledge of 5S, TPM, ISO standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Hands-on leadership approach with willingness to assist directly with maintenance tasks when needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance technicians and assign daily maintenance activities
- Monitor work quality, productivity, and completion of maintenance tasks
- Coordinate outside vendors and contractors for maintenance-related services
- Support employee development, training, and performance management activities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to work at heights and climb ladders when necessary
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Moderate physical activity required in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, dust, heat, and fumes
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) based on assigned tasks and facility requirements
Schedule & Availability
- Standard schedule will generally be daytime hours; however, flexibility is required to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation
- Participation in an on-call rotation for maintenance emergencies and operational support may be required
- Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be necessary depending on business needs
Compensation
- Salary $75K-$85K based on experience
