We are seeking one (1) experienced Litigation Attorney to join our legal team, on a per diem basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in all phases of civil litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation. Responsibilities:
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and supporting memoranda of law in state and federal court;
- Managing all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document demands, and deposition notices;
- Taking and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts;
- Conducting legal research and preparing case strategy assessments;
- Appearing for court conferences, oral arguments, hearings, and trials; and
- Negotiating settlements and drafting settlement agreements and releases.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association where practicing is required
- Proven experience in civil litigation and related areas
- Strong proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
