Valley Lutheran High School is seeking an energetic and dependable Public Address (PA) Announcer for our home varsity football games during the 2026 season.
The PA Announcer plays an important role in creating a positive and exciting game-day atmosphere for our student-athletes, families, and fans. We are looking for someone who is comfortable speaking in front of a crowd, can follow the action on the field, and brings enthusiasm and professionalism to the press box.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the PA announcer for Valley Lutheran home football games
- Announce starting lineups, player names, down and distance, scoring plays, penalties, and other game information
- Make school announcements, sponsor acknowledgments, and other prepared announcements throughout the game
- Work alongside the scoreboard operator and other game-day personnel
- Maintain a positive, professional, and school-appropriate atmosphere
- Arrive early enough to review rosters, pronunciations, announcements, and game-day information before kickoff
Qualifications
- Strong, clear speaking voice
- Comfortable speaking over a PA system in front of a crowd
- General knowledge of football and the ability to follow the game
- Dependable and punctual
- Able to remain organized while several things are happening at once
- Positive attitude and ability to represent Valley Lutheran High School professionally
- Previous PA announcing, broadcasting, radio, sports, or public-speaking experience is a plus, but not required
Schedule
This is a part-time, game-day position for Valley Lutheran High School home varsity football games during the fall season. Games are primarily held on Friday or Saturday evenings.
The announcer should plan to arrive approximately 60–90 minutes before kickoff and remain through the conclusion of the game.
Compensation
Paid per game – compensation based on experience.
