American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position requiring at least 1 year of experience, Epic proficiency, and a GA or compact RN license.

Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
-
Adult to geriatric patient population with a broad range of Med/Surg diagnoses
-
Patient ratio of 1:6 with an average daily census of 29 across 32 rooms
-
Required skills include isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, nasal cannula, high flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, IV starts, PICC line management, blood product administration, and feeding tube care and management
-
Charting via Epic (required) with Pyxis and SBAR also in use
-
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
-
No on-call requirements
-
12-week contract
-
Active GA or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required

Epic experience required
-
Charge RN experience is preferred
-
Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration

Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates are accepted

Navy blue scrubs required

RTO is capped at 7 days and may not be requested during the first week of the assignment

RTO blackout dates apply for Spring Break (April 4–12)

Holiday coverage policy: if 1–2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work 2 and may request 1 holiday off for approval

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
-
No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted night shift is firm

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least 1 full year before returning as a traveler
