Muncy Industries is seeking a Software Engineer at our Alvin, Texas location, just outside Houston. Muncy Industries is a leader in the heavy lifting industry manufacturing lifting hardware for chain, wire rope and synthetic rope and webbing assemblies. Muncy industries is seeking a highly motivated and well rounded Software Engineer to join the team; developing solutions for customers and assisting the production team with manufacturing support.
We are seeking a Software/Mechatronics Engineer to develop, maintain, and support software used in our manufacturing and industrial testing systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain applications using Python 2 and Python 3.
- Develop and support our internal systems and other business applications.
- Work with SQL, MySQL, relational databases, Flask, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Support Raspberry Pi, Linux, automated test equipment, sensors, load cells, GPIO, I/O devices, and machine controls.
- Troubleshoot software, database, hardware-interface, and equipment-related issues.
- Provide phone, email, and remote technical support to customers.
- Maintain and improve existing legacy applications and assist with software upgrades.
- Document software, troubleshooting procedures, and system changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
- Strong Python programming and debugging skills.
- Experience with SQL/databases and web application development.
- Comfortable working with Linux/Raspberry Pi and industrial equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and customer communication skills.
This position is in person at our Alvin, TX location, which is near Angleton and central to Pearland, League City, Dickinson, Missouri City, all suburbs Houston, TX.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
