Position Summary
The House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the home. This role ensures a safe, structured, and supportive living environment by supervising direct care staff, monitoring resident activities, and supporting individualized service and care plans. As the primary on-site leader during assigned shifts, you will provide guidance, operational oversight, and crisis intervention for both residents and staff.
Job Details
- Employment Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
- Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00 per hour
- Hours: 40 hours per week + On-Call rotation (requires flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and after-hours support. On-Call hours are compensated at time and a half)

Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & Staff Supervision
- Serve as the primary point of contact for daily shift operations, phone calls, resident intakes, and incidents.
- Provide direct supervision, leadership, and support to Youth Care Workers and other on-duty staff.
- Manage shift scheduling, including coordinating coverage for staff call-ins.
- Facilitate seamless shift changeovers with clear communication and accurate documentation.
- Review, maintain, and audit daily logs, overnight checks, and household records to ensure operational compliance.
2. Resident Care & Family Coordination
- Provide on-site crisis intervention, trauma-informed de-escalation, and emotional support to residents.
- Serve as a backup for case management duties, assisting when the Case Manager is unavailable or requires support with their caseload.
- Coordinate care, appointments, and progress updates regularly with guardians, workers, and community partners.
- Facilitate resident entry and exit processes, assisting with youth transitions and referring local resources.
3. Health, Safety, & Facility Management
- Oversee medication management, including regular medication audits, log reviews, and coordinating refills with pharmacies or guardians.
- Schedule and conduct regular safety checks, including fire drills and inspections of safety equipment.
- Conduct daily facility inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper household management.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks and coordinate larger repair and maintenance needs as required.
4. Resource & Vehicle Management
- Monitor facility inventory and keep household, cleaning, and medical supplies organized.
- Oversee the recording, organization, and distribution of community donations and resident property.
- Oversee company vehicle usage, completing regular safety, cleanliness, and mileage checks while arranging routine maintenance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential youth care, with prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of youth care and residential group home operations; strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Approach: Deep commitment to trauma-informed care, cultural sensitivity, and positive youth development.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
- Compliance: Ability to maintain compliance with licensing standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
