POSITION SUMMARY & REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The Town of Groton is seeking a dynamic, organized, and inspiring leader to serve as our Camp Director for Camp Button. Camp Button specializes in creating accessible activities and field trips for campers with significant disabilities.
As the Camp Director, you will lead the day-to-day operations, curriculum implementation, and safety of Camp Button. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader dedicated to fostering a safe, motivating, and inclusive environment. We are looking for a dynamic leader to champion four core areas: Team Leadership & Development, by training, mentoring, and motivating our camp staff; Operational Excellence, by managing essential administrative, logistical, and site upkeep tasks; Camper Support & Safety, by leading behavior interventions and implementing robust crisis and safety plans; and Community Engagement, by serving as the primary, customer-service-driven liaison for our camp families. Extensive experience working with children with special needs, particularly in a camp setting, is required. Candidates must possess certifications in First Aid, CPR, Restraint Training, and Medication Administration. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, exceptionally reliable, and adept at critical decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
