Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and oversight of complex electrical systems within the energy and utility sectors. Duties
- Lead the design and system engineering of high-voltage electrical systems, including power distribution, protection schemes, and control systems in accordance with IEEE standards and NFPA 70 compliance.
- Develop detailed project schedules to ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones while coordinating with project management teams.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS tools to create schematics, system layouts, and detailed drawings for electrical infrastructure projects.
- Conduct comprehensive power system analysis using MATLAB and other simulation tools to optimize performance and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, schematics, and construction drawings ensuring adherence to electrical building codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), NESC (National Electrical Safety Code), and utility standards.
- Manage project teams through all phases of design engineering, construction support, commissioning, and system testing for utility electrical systems.
- Ensure all designs meet safety standards for high-voltage operations, power electronics circuit design requirements, and energy sector regulations.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and GIS specialists to integrate electrical systems within larger infrastructure projects while maintaining system reliability.
- Provide technical guidance on power system protection strategies, high-voltage switchgear selection, and energy efficiency measures.
- Support troubleshooting efforts during construction or operational phases by applying advanced engineering principles to resolve complex electrical issues efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience in power system design, high-voltage electrical systems, and utility electrical infrastructure.
- Proven expertise in project scheduling, project management methodologies, and leading cross-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation; experience with MATLAB for system analysis; familiarity with GIS tools is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), NESC (National Electrical Safety Code), and relevant electrical building codes.
- Hands-on experience with power electronics circuit design, power system protection schemes, and energy sector engineering projects.
- Deep understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, high-voltage equipment operation, and power distribution engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately while ensuring compliance with IEEE standards implementation across projects.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills combined with systems engineering expertise to resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Prior experience working within public utility environments or large-scale energy projects is highly desirable.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
