Position Summary:
The Janitor performs a range of environmental services and facility support activities that promote safe, clean, sanitary, and well-maintained clinical and administrative spaces across all sites. This role supports infection control, safety standards, and a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Janitorial Staff members may serve as a liaison with site leadership on basic facility and supply needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Cleans and disinfects exam rooms, restrooms, waiting areas, offices, breakrooms, and common areas according to established cleaning and infection control protocols

Performs routine and deep cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces

Restocks paper goods, soap, sanitizer, and other janitorial or restroom supplies across all assigned areas

Safely handles and disposes of trash and recycling in accordance with safety and compliance guidelines

ensures all chemicals and cleaning products are labeled according to OSHA requirements

Maintains floors through mopping, buffing, and periodic stripping/waxing as assigned

Identifies and reports maintenance, safety, or repair concerns to Facilities or Site Management in a timely manner

Assists with room setup, breakdown, and cleaning for meetings or special events when needed

Maintains janitorial equipment and ensures proper storage and use of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Supports Administration, Facilities and Site Management in maintaining safe, clean, and orderly facilities

Assists with supply inventory and communicates restocking needs to Site Management

Monitors building security and safety by securing doors shut, turning off lights, and locking doors after operating hours

Performs other housekeeping or facility-related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

At least one (1) year of janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services (Preferred)

Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting (Preferred)
Office: normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements
Clinical: exposure to bodily fluids, bloodborne pathogens, & infectious diseases
Remote: work from home or location outside a central office
Outdoor/External: exposure to weather conditions & elements such as dirt, dust, oil, smoke, fumes, water
Extended hours: work performed beyond/outside operating hours
Travel required: use of a vehicle or other mode of transportation to complete tasks beyond arrival and departure to/from work
Seeing: Must be able to read documents and use computer
Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling
Lifting/Pushing/Pulling: at least 15 pounds at a time
Sitting: prolonged periods of sitting
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type, and use phone system
