SETUP-TECH
Summary:
3 years Eperience in setup work is a must for this position
The SETUP-TECH is responsible for overseeing all aspects involved in plant production in an environment that is continuously changing and adapting in response to market conditions. He or she must set up and start equipment, troubleshoot production problems and take preventive or corrective action, always with an eye to maximizing production and optimizing quality. He or she is responsible for ensuring that a safe and clean work environment is maintained at all times and that all company policies are followed.
Job Responsibilities:
· Communicate with foreman information necessary to running equipment and to coordinate smooth shift changes
· Check work orders for product changeovers and plan shift accordingly
· Set up and start equipment
· Make adjustments to extruders and machines as necessary to make changeovers
· Make adjustments to extruders and machines as necessary to maximize out put and maintain quality of product
· Identify opportunities for quality improvement and cost reduction
· Check Teflon and blades on bag machines
· Collect data and prepare production reports
· Accurately complete paperwork so maintenance and office know what is going on
setup person in assisting with changeovers with others
· Supervise setup person, quality control and packers
· Ensure that all safety recommendations and requirements are complied with by all shift employees
· Train packers as necessary
· Ensure daily forklift inspection is performed by setup person
· Additional duties may be assigned
Skills Required:
· Ability to run extrusion and conversion equipment (printers, etc)
· Ability to accept supervision and supervise others with fairness and tact
· Good mechanical aptitude
· Ability to instruct others
· Ability to read and follow work orders
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Good math and writing skills
· Reliability and attention to detail
· Forklift operator certification
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 60 pounds and often required to push/pull and reach above shoulder level. Must have dexterity and flexibility to move around towers and machinery.
Work environment:
Can be very hot in summer, cold in winter. Can be dusty at times. Noise level is moderate to loud.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
