Responsibilities
- Assist patients in pretesting patients and selecting and fitting eyewear, including spectacle lens dispensing and frame adjustments
- Manage optical laboratory tasks such as lens ordering, processing, and quality checks to ensure accurate prescriptions
- Operate POS systems, cash registers, and EMR/EHR software to process transactions and update medical records efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions about eyewear options, insurance coverage, and health regulation policies
- Support retail sales efforts by promoting eyewear products, accessories, and optical services to enhance patient experience
Experience
- Prior retail optometry or optical laboratory experience is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and optical laboratory procedures is highly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as My Vision Express or similar platforms for managing medical records and billing processes
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for transactions, prescriptions, and measurements
