W/WWTP Project Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for the administration and execution of assigned projects in a safe, profitable, and timely manner. This position is often assigned multiple projects and/or projects with larger contract amounts and/or greater complexity. The Project Manager manages work in a manner consistent with standards of quality and integrity and establishes and maintains professional working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
The Project Manager may also participate, as requested, in business development, estimating, bidding, and contract negotiation phases for assigned projects.
This position includes two levels that provide for progression based on skill and experience:
- Project Manager I: Capable of managing fairly large projects ranging from approximately $51 million to $100 million, typically with 10–15 years of experience.
- Project Manager II: Capable of managing large, complex projects and/or multiple projects totaling approximately $101 million to $199 million, typically with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion the orderly and timely transition of projects from the estimating phase to the field. This transition shall include contract review meetings encompassing contract requirements, general conditions, schedules, budgets, subcontracts, and purchase order agreements.
- Complete project closeout requirements and punch lists in a timely manner. Respond to warranty callbacks promptly to maintain strong owner and client relationships.
- Coordinate with the Project Superintendent to establish the means and methods required for the successful and profitable execution of the work. Review and monitor manpower, equipment, and material resources to accomplish project goals.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain overall responsibility for project success, including safety, schedule, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction, as well as personnel decisions that impact the project.
- Manage all project billings to ensure timely submission of payment applications and collection of payments from the owner/client.
- Manage development of the overall CPM schedule in coordination with the Project Superintendent(s) and ensure all procurement activities are fully coordinated with the Project Engineer(s). Ensure the project team effectively utilizes the Last Planner System (LPS) to manage project schedules.
- Participate in the preparation and review of estimates, with particular attention to cost control systems, equipment requirements and utilization, constructability, formwork, materials, manpower, general conditions, schedule, insurance, and other project-related costs.
- Participate in the business development process, including client contact, relationship development, proposals, presentations, and negotiations for selected projects.
- Prepare the Monthly Progress Report in coordination with the Superintendent(s) by the 6th of each month. Utilize available reports to manage costs and prepare accurate cost projections.
- Ensure the timely review of purchase orders and subcontracts prepared by the estimating department.
- Understand and administer prime contract terms and conditions, contract documents, subcontract agreements, purchase order agreements, insurance requirements, and other applicable project documentation. Provide written notifications when necessary to properly document project impacts.
- Review and execute change orders, supplements, and cost-control budget adjustments.
- Verify that agreements are properly executed and required insurance is in place prior to any subcontractor beginning work on site.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Experience in preconstruction and construction project management, with thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems, productivity analysis, construction operations, and cash flow procedures.
- Four-year construction-related degree or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, and safety vest.
- May reach above shoulder height and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
- May use telephones, computer systems, email, or other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
- Must be able to comply with all applicable safety standards and procedures.
- May occasionally climb stairs, ladders, and similar structures.
- Must frequently use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects.
- Will interact with people frequently throughout the workday.
- May occasionally lift, push, or pull objects.
- May sit, stand, or walk short distances for the duration of a shift or workday.

Pay: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
