Applications for an Adjunct Instructor are being accepted for the Gulf Language School at North American University.
Anticipated beginning date: August 19th, 2025
Mandatory Requirements:
- Masters in TESOL or Linguistics
- 1 year of teaching experience with adult ESL learners
Primary Duties of a GLS English Adjunct Faculty
- Provide the expertise and knowledge that support the Intensive English Program curriculum.
- Establish courses following accepted higher education standards, teach students using a variety of effective methodologies, and provide engagement and support activities that encourage student learning. The role of the Instructional Faculty encompasses teaching and learning, academic advising, professional development, and institutional and community service.
- The incumbent will teach a maximum load of twenty (20) equated hours each week of a session in the area(s) of competency (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) and participate as an instructor in the activities of the department
- Strong teaching skills.
- Ability to teach at all assigned levels.
- Using existing curriculum, Prepare course materials and deliver lectures to be student centered.
- Familiarity with an IEP.
- Willingness and ability to teach ESOL grammar, reading, writing, and speaking from beginning to advanced levels.
- Ability to prepare students for Texas Academic Skills Program (TASP) and/or TOEFL exams.
- Possess the ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Willing and able to teach day, afternoon, or evening classes.
- Advise students on academic curricula and careers.
- Other duties as assigned
Available Schedules:
- Monday & Tuesday all day
- Saturday & Sunday all day
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 5:30 - 9:00pm
Work permit required.
