Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook/Server to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional food service and meal preparation to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a commitment to maintaining high standards of culinary excellence.
Duties
- Prepare and serve 3 meals per day for approximately 350 residents in a homeless shelter and rehabilitation program
- Maintains cleanliness of cooking and dining areas and makes sure proper sanitation procedures are being followed by anyone in the kitchen/dining room.
- Rotate food and maintains cleanliness of pantries, freezers and other food storage or preparation areas.
- Wash dishes, pans and utensils as needed.
- Follow all policies and procedures of organization especially boundaries.
- Courteous and respectful to staff and clients.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow organizations and State’s sanitation rules and regulations.
- Ability to pass all inspections and audits.
- Possess a current and valid food service and sanitation license or obtain license within 3 months of employment.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolong periods of time.
- Ability to lift 30-40 lbs.
- Able to work varying days, times and locations including early mornings, night, weekends and holidays.
Work experience requirement
- Experience cooking for large groups of people
Special certificates or licensing requirements
- Current State and City Food Service and Sanitation License
Education requirements
- Culinary Arts Credit/ CEV's Preferred

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
