USAM DC is seeking an enthusiastic individual that is reliable and ready to learn the prepping process in the Finishing department. The right individual will be trained to prepare work for the finishing area in a satisfactory manner. They will complete work that is high quality that meets customer requirements, including but not limited to, productivity, quality, cost and safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for preparing work to enter the finishing area and/or sands between coats of finish.
- Applies uniform coats of satin and/or finish on work.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all types of preparation equipment to perform on a wide variety wood material.
- Operate all tools and machines in a safe and productive manner.
- Ability to run the wide belt sander and finishing line.
- Maintain work area in an acceptable manner.
- May assist with tool and machine maintenance.
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned or apparent.
- Can meet short and/or unpredictable deadlines.
- Consistently meets supervisor expectations.
- Understands and conforms to company policies and procedures.
- Recognizes and utilizes the company’s resources effectively and efficiently.
- Develops and maintains a sufficient working knowledge of the organization as a whole.
- Confers with supervisors with regard to overtime requirements.

- Some understanding of machine operations (belt sander, preferred)
