Transportation Foreman Summary:
Plans and supervises the work of assistant shop foreman, mechanics, helpers, and other related personnel in the repair and maintenance of buses and related equipment.
Starting Salary Range: $73,133-$88,730 (Grade 29 Step 1-11 depending upon verifiable work experience)
Education: Associate’s Degree required or equivalent experience (2 years of similar work level experience = 1 year of college); A combination of experience and education may be used to meet the Associate’s Degree requirement; In lieu of degree, Supervisor certification with Vehicle Maintenance Concentration earned through National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) may be considered
Certification/Licensure: Valid certificate(s) in Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician or ASE Master School Bus technician required; Valid Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License , S, P, air brake endorsements required; Must have an excellent driving record;
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in truck, automotive repair, and/or school bus repair work required; Experience in a supervisory or lead role preferred
