The Heart and Vascular sonographers perform non-invasive ultrasound in the modalities of vascular and echocardiography. They develop client relationships through excellent patient care. They act as an educational resource to clients, providing quality and value to all aspects of services. The Sonographer will be able to participate in research and in procedures and will work in a supportive environment and be extensively trained on our protocols and standards while working on the latest equipment and technology.
Education:
· Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound training program or has completed on the job experience/training and has an ARDMS Registry in related ultrasound specialty (echo/vascular) or is registry eligible.
Years of Experience:
- Must have at least one-year previous experience performing respective modality; OR must be a graduate of or within 6 months of hire date graduation from a diagnostic ultrasound program, preferably CAAHEP approved.
Required Skills & Knowledge :
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written / verbal).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with hospital management, physicians and technologists.
- Current knowledge of technology and clinical advances related to cardia and/or vascular sonography.
- Working knowledge of accreditation, credentialing, and quality assurance procedures.
- Basic understanding of imager configuration, DICOM standards, networking and medical records
License & Certification :
- ARDMS/CCI registered or registry eligible.
- Must pass the registry within the first year of employment if not registered at time of hire.
- Maintain continuing education requirements as set forth by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL and ICAE.
