Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety protocols.
Support the kitchen staff with meal assembly, plating, and ensuring timely service during busy hours.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
Operate basic kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels.
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure hygiene and safety are maintained at all times.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and address any operational needs promptly.
Skills
Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of food safety management, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Proficiency in food preparation techniques such as slicing, chopping, and recipe adherence.
Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen setting.
Understanding of safety standards in food production, including knife skills and slicing techniques.
Experience with meal preparation for catering or large groups is a plus.
Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
