ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following, other duties may be assigned):
- Safety Compliance: Learns and adheres to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for oneself and colleagues. Adheres to safety protocols and procedures while handling and packing materials, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Quality Control: Follows and maintains all aspects of quality and performs quality checks during the hardware picking process to ensure correct quantities of hardware have been picked and meet required standards and specifications. Conducts visual inspections of finished products during the packaging process to ensure the components meet quality standards, identifying any defects or discrepancies and reporting them to the Lead or the Supervisor. Understands Bobrick’s 4 Grade Quality System and can distinguish and explain between levels of the defect.
- Communication: Communicates effectively with production supervisors, purchasing staff, shipping department, and other team members regarding orders, hardware, and inventory and coordinates hardware requirements, resolves issues, and ensures smooth workflow.
- Demonstrates understanding of VMP’s and JSC’s.
HARDWARE-RELATED TASKS
- Hardware Receiving: Transports materials and items from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas. Opens bales, crates, and other containers. Uses computer to verify amounts of items received or distributed. Completes any documentation that is required.
- Storage and Organization: Sorts and places materials or items on racks or shelves according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Rotates stock by first in, first out. Properly stores hardware components in designated storage areas, ensuring items are neatly organized, labeled, and easily accessible.
- Distribution and Allocation:
- Understands scanning procedures for hardware.
- Picks, scans, and packs hardware according to job and brand requirements, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to packout.
- Operates tape machine to secure packages.
- Refers to paperwork and pulls consumable hardware (extrusions, inserts, screws, receivers) to be used for orders.
- Coordinates the logistics related to powder-coating.
- Builds hardware kits based on the job requirements and specifications; determines which parts need to be powder-coated; disassembles some hardware parts to be powder-coated and then puting them together once when they are back.
- Pulls and prepares the hardware and extrusions for Emmegi Center.
- Sends material shortage e-mail to appropriate parties when orders may need to be shipped incomplete.
- Prepares the hardware for inter-company transfers.
- Inventory Management: Conducts periodic cycle counts on in-house inventory as needed or required. Prepares for annual physical inventory. Keeps up with the inventory at the off-site warehouse.
- Sorts production paperwork (when necessary) in priority order, notates special instructions, and stages in proper locations.
PACKAGING TASKS
Performs various packaging tasks as outlined in packaging VMPs for Bobrick Partitions, Privada, and Thrislington:
- Refers to paperwork and pulls the required hardware including headrails for the order on a pallet before packing.
- Uses pallet banding and wrapping equipment to package toilet partition orders securely using appropriate packaging materials, such as bubble wrap, foam inserts, cardboard, wooden crates, and shrink wrap, to prevent damage during transit.
- Operates hand tools, and pallet jacks (tape machine, pallet banding and wrapping material, Miter Saw, etc.). Operates miter saw and vertical A/S saw to modify packing material to build crates.
- Labeling and Documentation: Applies necessary shipping labels, packing slips, and other documentation to package pallets accurately, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and shipping regulations. Checks and completes the necessary paperwork before shipment.
- Organization and Cleanliness: Keeps packing areas clean, organized, and free of clutter, ensuring that packaging materials and supplies are readily available for use.
- Material Handling: Handles pallets and restocks packaging supplies.
