About Us
The RoadRunners gas stations is a growing company with multiple gas station and convenience store locations. We are looking for a professional, organized, and motivated Office Secretary / Administrative Assistant to support our Oxford, CT office.
This is a part-time office position that includes a mix of secretarial support, administrative work, phone calls, emails, filing, paperwork, document preparation, vendor follow-up, and general office organization.
This role may also include light support with QuickBooks, invoices, receipts, tax document preparation, and basic office paperwork. QuickBooks experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is professional, organized, reliable, well-spoken, and eager to learn. The right candidate should be comfortable communicating by phone and email, keeping paperwork organized, following up on tasks, and helping maintain a professional office environment.
No extensive experience is required if the right person is sharp, trainable, organized, and willing to learn.
Because this role may involve interaction with managers, vendors, accountants, banks, lenders, town officials, business partners, and office visitors, a professional appearance, polished presentation, and business-professional demeanor are expected.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Answering and responding to emails
- Handling phone calls professionally
- Filing, organizing, and maintaining paperwork
- Preparing documents, letters, forms, and reports
- Following up with managers, vendors, accountants, banks, lenders, town officials, and business partners
- Helping keep the office organized and professional
- Greeting visitors professionally when meetings take place at the office
- Organizing invoices, receipts, statements, and business documents
- Assisting with tax document preparation and paperwork
- Providing light QuickBooks and office paperwork support as needed
- Supporting the office team with daily administrative tasks
- Learning company systems, procedures, and office workflows
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills

- Able to learn quickly and follow instructions

- Able to manage paperwork and follow up on tasks
- Willing to be trained

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior office, secretary, receptionist, or administrative experience preferred, but not required
- QuickBooks experience preferred, but not required
- Experience handling emails, phone calls, filing, paperwork, or vendor communication is a plus
- Experience preparing documents or organizing business paperwork is a plus
