Patient Access Specialist
Job Summary
Position is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, ensuring medical necessity compliance, verifying eligibility, and posting payments.
Essential Functions:
· Greet patients and assist patients/caregivers with a high level of excellence in customer service and professionalism
· Check in patients and collect copays/deductibles/co-insurance amounts
· Check out patients according to the physician instructions and coordinate appointments
· Answering high volume of inbound calls
· Scheduling/Rescheduling patient appointments
· Maintain patient’s demographics and latest insurance information; updating as necessary
· Scanning and filing medical documents into electronic medical records upon check in/out
· Obtain necessary consent and HIPAA documentation
· Assist other medical facilities with any physician orders for mutual patients
· Assist efficient flow of information between patients and medical staff
· Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including flexibility, priority setting, problem solving, and conflict resolutions
· Maintain highly positive attitude
· Utilize time and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
· No personal work or tasks during clinic office hours
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 year experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting
· Ability to build rapport with patients
· Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient typing/keyboarding skills
· Medical Front desk: 3 years (Required)
Schedule: This is an office based, full-time position. Work hours are generally expected to be 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday (8am - 5pm)
Pay: From $18.00 per hour (Compensation will be based on experience.)
