Job Summary
The Manager, Systems Engineering is responsible for leading a team of Systems Engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical solutions and support to our clients. This role supports the Director of Service in executing management responsibilities and achieving service and financial key performance indicators (KPIs). The MSE is accountable for the performance, development, and operational excellence of the Systems Engineering team, while also collaborating with managers of Service Desk & Field Services to drive accountability and consistency across Systems Technicians and Administrators within their vertical.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Uphold and promote Integris core values and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture within the engineering team and across departments.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and career development aligned with individual and business goals.
- Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings and annual performance evaluations to assess individual and team progress against KPIs and objectives.
Team & Performance Management
- Lead the Systems Engineering team to meet or exceed service and financial KPIs.
- Actively monitor team and individual metrics; manage performance, utilization, and process adherence.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for team members against team KPIs and individual metrics and goals.
- Manage team scheduling to meet clients demands, manage time and attendance, and approve timesheets.
Collaboration & Service Delivery
- Collaborate with partnered Client Experience team to lead teams KPI’s and utilization of their respective client group.
- Work closely with Systems Engineers to ensure task alignment and timely support for client teams.
- Participate in Practice Management meetings.
- Participate in team meetings by reporting status of action items and helping to identify and resolve service delivery and customer issues.
- Work with CIO, Central Services, Project Delivery, and others to continually improve Integris Service Delivery Model.
Client & Operational Oversight
- Maintain positive relationships with assigned practice clients to support retention goals and service quality.
- Ensure client documentation and time records are complete and accurate.
- Oversee day-to-day operations to meet client demands and support service delivery goals.
Strategic Planning & Improvement
- Support workforce planning and talent acquisition in coordination with the Director of Service and People & Culture team.
- Define and manage training goals to keep staff up to date with emerging technologies and service capabilities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve systems, tools, and processes to increase team efficiency and service quality.
- Provide leadership with data-driven insights related to performance, capacity, and operational improvement opportunities.
- Any additional task or responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Certifications such as Microsoft MCSE, MCP, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, Network+, Security+, CISSP, and PMP are preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in IT management and service delivery.
- 2+ years of experience providing leadership or mentoring activities peer to peer within a team or in a supervisory capacity.
- MSP industry expertise preferred.
- Valid driver’s license
- ITIL concept familiarity
